Final Project

Treeios

The Tree of Life project was inspired by Julia Christensen. When I was challenged to experiment and be imaginative with this concept I was super enthusiastic. The questions of longevity, culture, funding, and keeping the public reeled in for 200 years is still unanswered. This raises the question of how will this project be able to keep up with our fast evolving planet and technology. That is what makes this project exhilarating because so much to be discovered. There are many challenges that will be faced but once the answers of this project are found it will be very successful and so unique. It will be a mission like no other. The idea of seeing how the planet evolves through this song between the tree and the planet is groundbreaking. I look forward to seeing this project growing and coming to life.

My project is based on time and longevity. I wanted to put a twist on the idea of sustainability and repurposing by recycling an old cereal box and designing my own product called Treeios. On the outside of the box I painted a bristlecone tree with acrylic to emulate one of many trees that may utilized for this project. Bristlecone trees are exquisite in nature with their weaving curves and resilience to harsh conditions which makes these trees a perfect candidate for this experiment. These are one of the longest living trees on this planet. This connects the idea of longevity and resilience of The Tree of Life project. Hypothetically inside the box contains Treeios that mimic the shape of different trees and are fun to eat. I created this product for consumers to "eat" to feel young and fresh. If you "eat" these Treeios then you will live for 200 years just like The Tree of Life project. Since I am a health nut I decided to create a project that was healthy while tying in the idea of longevity and vitality. There are no artificial flavors and no high maintenance. All the ingredients can be easily pronounced. Trees have all natural ingredients. On one side of the box I created a nutrition label that lists all the elements that make up trees. This box of Treeios contains hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, phosphorous, sulfur and nitrogen. On the other side size of the box, there are some fun facts about trees. Did you know that the longest living tree to ever exist on this planet is the Bristlecone tree? In 1620 the first Pear tree was planted in North America. I am beyond excited to see this project take off and to see JPL launch the first Cubesat into space.
